光明曼荼羅は、 金剛界大日如来の周囲に光明真言を表す24の梵字（ぼんじ）を円形状にめぐらしたもので、平安時代後期以降に流行した光明真言の信仰によって成立し、大日如来と阿弥陀如来の徳を合せ持つとされる。
江戸中期の製作と思われ、著しい損傷は少なく経年による時代感はあります。表具は痛んでいますが鑑賞できる程度でしょうか。

This piece is painted on paper with ink and pigments.
There are some stains and folding creases on the painting, and some damages on the mounting associated with age.
