明治-昭和時代前期の華道家。
京都出身。本名は源治郎。
明治11年1月12日生まれ。津田青楓の兄。父西川一葉にまなび,大正2年去風流7代家元をつぐ。夏目漱石ら文人・学者とひろい交友関係をもち,また九条武子らの名門子女を門下とした。日本伝統芸術の研究誌「瓶史」を創刊,主宰。昭和13年3月20日死去。61歳。著作に「茶心茶語」「風流生活」。

A fine Zen ink painting of a bamboo broom depicted with ink on paper.
Signed Issotei and sealed. The scroll bar is made of deer horn and it is accompanied by a paulownia wood box.

Nishikawa Issotei (1878-1938) was a Japanese flower arrangement artist active during Meiji-early Showa period.
He became the head of a school of the flower arrangement. He’s studied painting under an artist, Takegawa Yuko
from Shijo school and was also devoted to Zen Buddhism.

The scroll is in very good condition with insignificant light marks.
