俳人。明治１７年東京生まれ、本名は藤吉。
別号は愛桜。東京帝国大学言語学科卒、
芸術院会員、自由律俳句を好み、季題無用論
を提唱した。『層雲』主催。昭和５１年没。９３才。

銀泥で鯉を描き、掛軸も手漉き和紙を用いた洒脱な非常に珍らしい逸品です。

本紙、表装ともに汚れなくきれいです。
　

Japanese vintage hanging scroll, Showa period, 20th century. A carp is painted with silver pastes on paper and mounted on stylish hand-made traditional Japanese paper called washi paper that expresses the originality and uniqueness of the artist. Signed Seisensui and sealed. The inscription on the left reads “nen nen heian” meaning “peaceful years”. It comes in a original paulownia wood box with the artist signature.

Ogiwara Seisensui (1884 -1976) was a Japanese haiku poet active during Taisho and Showa period in Japan. He was very well known as the pioneer of the free verse haiku style established in Japan.
