A fine painting of Kannon/Guanyin(the Boddhisattva of
Compassion) painted on silk with ink.
This painting is mounted on the quality brocade with peony pattern
and aged light indigo blue silk fabric, which is accompanied by a

Morinobu. This piece is attributed to Kano Tanyu.
Kano Tanyu (1602-1674) was one of the foremost Japanese painters of
the Kano school and active in the early Edo period.
He was retained by the Tokugawa shogunate as a court painter and
completed many large-scale commissions to decorate castles, palaces
and temples for the newly established Tokugawa regime at the
beginning of the seventeenth century.

light stains on the painting, some light stains and tiny insect
damages on the mounting associated with age. Please contact us if
