when Kobo Daishi was forty-two years old,he built the temple on this place to exorcize the evil spirit from him and other people,he carved the image of the Yakushi Nyorai which is about one meter high and he installed it as the pricipal image of Buddha. After that the fortune of the temple had prospered,the temple has improved with Shichido Garan (seven buildings in the temple) standing in a low.It was destroyed by the fire caused by war by Chosogabe's army for the tensho era (1573-91),but the principal image of Buddha could escape danger. In the Edo era Nanzan Zenshi of Rinzai sect entered the temple and revived it,so the denomination changet the Shingon sect into the Rinzai sect.It suffered from a fire in 3 the Tenpo era (1832), the chief priest of the Buddhist temple was burned to death,but the principal image remained intact.the present pricipal image has the signature that Busshi (a sculptor of Buddhist images) Kyojin made it in 4 the Kyuan era (1148),it is appointed as important cultural assets of the nation. The main temple was repaired in 53 the showa era,the drawing of Unryu the size of about thirty tatami mats was drawn on the ceiling of the outside battle formation,a thousand images of the Yakushi Nyorai were deifyed in both sides about 20 minuter from the tenth Buddhist temple.

Fujiidara temple is on the outskirts of Kamoshima-cho,deep in the area of the country,and at foot of a mountain. If you go in the main gate of the Buddhist temple, the bell tower and the place to offer a copy of a sutra are on the left-hand side,Fudodo is on the left of the inner part,further the impossing main temple is on a step high place,Taishido is on its right.Both this temple and Sokkeiji temple of the thirtythird Buddhist temple unusually belong to the Myoshinji sect of the Rinzai sect. A big wisteria trellis is in the precincts,when the season comes, the beautiful flowers open,and it is a fine view.It is said that Kobo Daishi planted the young plant when he opened the temple,he named the temple Kongozan Fujiidara temple and decided to make it the eleventh Buddhist temple.
